With wingspan of 31 cm (male butterfly can reach 20 cm but more usually about 16 cm), a body length of 8 cm (3.2 inches) and a body mass of up to 12 grams, makes this butterfly the largest butterfly in the world. Female are larger than males with markedly rounder, broader wings.
